It's been a while from my last post. Crazy months at works and at planning the move, although when looking back, my efficiency has been quite low... I guess I really needed a break at that time after almost 2 years of stressful works.

The weather at Redmond was unexpectedly fine. I heard that it has been raining for a while before I arrived. So it's quite lucky to see some sunshine and blue sky last week, although unfortunately I caught a cold right away... :-)

The new team is big! I've been meeting so many people in the hallway that I can't really remember who I've met and who haven't, not to mention remembering the names. :) The new code base is huge as well. I guess it will take me months to read it through. They're very nice to put me in a temporary window office which has a very good view to a new campus building just across the high way. I will be moved back to the devs zone around 1 month later.

One of the things I like about the team is its mixed culture. Under my dev manager, less than 20 people, we have 9 nationalities being represented in the team. That's incredible! So last Friday night, we had a family potluck together. I've never joined it before so I totally have no idea about what to bring, especially when my wife hasn't came yet. I went out to buy a dish from a nearby Chinese restaurant, came back and saw people bringing in all kinds of foods... One colleague didn't bring food. Instead, he brought a toy aeroplane which, of cause, became the favorite for the kids. Yeah, it's a lot of funs that night.

Settling down is not easy. I have visited here for quite a few times for business, but it's quite different with actually living here. I'm often lost on what I should do. Hopefully, things will be sorted out gradually and I can focus again on my works.
